Our family is like a patchwork
quilt. Each of us different, yet stitched together by love.
God has perfect timing, never
early, never late. It takes a little patience and a whole lot of faith. But
it’s worth the wait. God is writing our story, and we are so glad you are here!
First, we would like to ask for your prayers, as we want to have open hearts
and open minds in the process, and pray that the Lords will be done.
Will you
join with us in prayer? Thank you, friends!
Adoption is a dream that has
planted itself in our hearts like a seed, and we have watered it with prayer
and fed it with hope!
Our story: Kevin and I have always
kept the idea of adoption in our hearts, but with the cost surrounding
adoption, it always seemed to be something we weren’t ready to face.
At church one Sunday, Choosing
Hope Adoptions presented their ministry, and Kevin and I looked at each other, and
just knew. We knew. This was a Christian; yes Christian, Adoption Agency. Right
here in Springfield! We left church that day with a new feeling in our hearts! We
immediately contacted Choosing Hope that week and gathered as much information
as we could. From the time we left church that Sunday, we began praying about
where the Lord would lead us on this journey. We received the pre-application
paperwork, a load of information, and we sat down and began to dig through the
mounds of paperwork. Angela told us that the pre-application would be more
involved than even the actual application.
After much time in prayer,
talking through the many possibilities, and hurdles we might face, we were led by
the Lord to proceed on in the process. We turned in all required information
for the pre-application, and the wait began. Angela told us it could take up to
30 days to process the pre-application, and we could only imagine that this
would be the first part of waiting, in a process that could be very lengthy.
We were told we would likely have
many questions, and that Choosing Hope wanted to be there to answer any and all
questions. So we compiled a list of almost twenty questions, and sent them to
Angela. She thought it might be better to sit down and talk through these
questions, and so we set up an appointment with her for Wednesday, September
28, 2016.
Meeting with Angela came as a
breath of fresh air; we felt such a peace after talking with her and having our
questions answered. After our meeting, she handed us another pile of paperwork,
this time with a letter that said, “We are happy to inform you that your
pre-application has been approved and you are ready for the next step in the
adoption process!” We were thrilled, and overwhelmed all at the same time! And
so, we immediately began the next stack of paperwork! We had asked Angela when
we could begin sharing the news with others; we were so excited, and could
hardly keep it a secret any longer! She gave us the go, said to start spreading
the word, and start our fundraising!
That next day, Thursday,
September 29, 2016, at 9:45am, I submitted our actual application to Angela. We
knew that this too, could take up to 30 days to process. We prayed over the
paperwork and sent it off! That afternoon I was out buying a birthday card for
a coworker, and while standing in line waiting, checked my email. We had an
email from Angela that said, “Congratulations!!! We have reviewed and accepted
your application to begin the home study process with Choosing Hope Adoptions.”
I couldn’t believe it. I could hardly catch my breath. I turned my phone off,
and turned it back on, and sure enough, I wasn’t imagining it! I stepped out of
line, called Kevin immediately, and said, “You just aren’t going to believe
this,” and so I proceeded to tell him. We were again, in amazement at how the
Lord is orchestrating our story!
God destined us for adoption as
his children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will.
Ephesians 1:5
As you know, the cost of adoption
is a huge factor in what keeps many from pursuing the calling to adopt. We are
praying and trusting that the Lord meets the need we have to continue on in
this journey. What we might see as impossible, the Lord says IS possible.
If you feel lead to help in the journey, we pray that in return, you are greatly blessed for your obedience to the Lord!
Every good and perfect gift is
from above. James 1:17
We are praying that you are
blessed, just as we have been! Thank you friends for your support, your love
and your prayers! We are so very excited for what is to come, and we want to thank
you for being a part of our journey!
Love,
The LeValley’s
